Reason

logos: it engages the audience's intellect.

Evidence

logos: adds wight to a speaker/writers point of view and makes it seem irrefutable and objective.
People are more likely to be persuaded if the think that there is proof to substantiate a claim.

Assertion

logos: presenting an idea as fact without explanation- making bold claims asserts the writers authority and projects confidence and assurance which is convincing to the audience

Style

parallelism

style: use of components in a sentence that are grammatically the same;or similar in their construction, sound , meaning or meter

style: when 3 adjectives or phrases are listed

Repetition

style:reocuurence of words or phrases.
by repeating certain words and phrases it reinforces and emphasizes an argument and ensures that the point of view being expressed stays in the mind of of the audience

style: the repitition of initial consonant sounds of adjacent or closely related words
functional, fashionable and fabulous shoes
Alliteration helps to emphasize certain words and make them more memorable.

rhetorical questions

style: prompt thought and lead an audence to certain conclusions. grabs the attention of the audience

Attacks

ethos: addressing and critiscizing an opposing view
speaker/writer will be showing that they are more trustworthy or sound.

credibility

ETHOS: quality of being trusted and believed in
makes your audience believe you are qualified and trustworthy

Jargon

ethos: special words or expressions used by a profession or group that are difficult for others to understand
used to signal expertise and knowledge and therefore establish credibility

adjectives, figurative language, connotation, loaded words, emotion, generalization,exaggeration, emotion
