~sx: chills, fever, H/A, muscle pains, "buboes"- swollen lymph nodes/ glands
~transmitted by flea bite, if humans handle tissue or body fluids of plague infected animals- if breathed in and spread through cough of someone carrying the plague bac

~ can be all three- VIRAL FUNGAL and BACTERIAL (most commonly viral in US which are least severe)
