How does Jem change?

Jem is starting to mature and change phiscally as he goes through puberty. He is becoming more of an adult, and stops playing with Scout as often.

What does Scout learn about Calpurnia?

Calpurnia leads a double life- with the Finches, she has better grammar and is more proper, and with the colored people she talks and acts like them. She also learns that life is hard for the people at Cal's church.

Who was waiting for the children when they came home from the church service? Why had she come?

Aunt Alexandra comes to stay at the Finch's home. She says that she is there to start raising the children "properly." She wants Scout to become more "ladylike.

At first Atticus disscusses this with the children. Scout starts to cry and Atticus tells the kids to forget everything he said and to just be kids.

As Jem matures, he and Scout grow apart. Jem wants to read, whereas Scout wants to play and be a normal kid.

Why did Dill run away from home back to Maycomb?

Dill had everything a boy could want, except his parents didn't spend any time with him. He didn't feel like they needed him.

This is incorrect, because the KKK is still a thing.

Scout is disscussing a group of men trying to kill Tom Robbinsion. They aproach the jail whispering, because they do not want to wake up Tom. The irony is you don't want to wake up a man that you are about to murder.

Why does Jem openly defy Atticus and refuse to leave?

Jem defies Atticus, because he is starting to mature I take risk. This is him starting to make dissions for him self.
