Pas de Bas

Step, step(cross in front), step(behind/replacement step kick). Frwd/ back,or side/side. (Uneven rhythm)

Bokazo

Hop Cross (X), hop out on second, click heels together

Schottishe

Step, step, step-hop. (Even rhythm)

Three step turn

Step, turn, step, touch

Two Step

Step, close, step. (Uneven rhythm)

Buzz Turn

Closed Position, cross in front step, turning

Grapevine

side- cross in back, side- cross in front. (side, behind, side, front...)

Do Sa Do

Facing partner, walk forward passing R shoulders, pass back to back, return to place; reverse passing L shoulders

See Saw

Facing partner, walk forward passing L shoulders, pass back to back, return to place; reverse passing R shoulders

Shine Position

Facing partner without touching, arms are bent at elbows by the waist

Open facing

Couples face each other without touching, arms down at sides

Full Open

M and W are side to side, inside hand joined, facing Line of Dance

Closed position

Man is facing line of dance, couples in 4 point contact

Semi open position

Steps travel line of dance, from closed position, M is turned L, W is turned R, both traveling forward in LOD

Two Hand Position

Couples face each other holding hands

Two Hand Elongated

Couples face each other holding hands, arms extended to sides, shoulder height, elbows straight

Shoulder-waist

Partners face each other, M places hands on W's waist; W places hands on M's shoulders.

Basket Hold

Left over right- hold arms out straight to sides, hold hands with person two away from you

Varsouvienne/Promenande

W straight left (under M's straight right) to M's bent L. W's bent right to M's straight L.

Skaters

Same as Varsouvienne but behind the heads

Reda

side- cross behind, side-cross behind, side-cross behind...

Fox Trot

The only truly American form of ballroom dance. 2/4 or 4/4 time. Rhythmic pattern is, slow-slow, quick-quick

Cha Cha

Originated in Cuba, slow and staccato; smooth, carefree, and flirtatious. time signature is 4/4. Rhythmic step is slow-slow-quick-quick-slow. Basic step pattern leads with the toe

Waltz

Oldest of all ballroom rhythms, First dance where couples held each other in a closed position. Time signature 3/4. Basic step is the box step

East Coast Swing

lively, time signature 2/4 or 4/4. Rhythmic pattern is triple step, triple step, rock step
