an animal that feeds chiefly on plants.

Mutualism

an association between organisms of two different species in which each member benefits

Omnivores

an animal or person that eats food of both plant and animal origin

Primary consumer

an animal that eats grass and other green plants in a food chain; an herbivore

Secondary consumer

an animal that eats other animals to get energy - they do not get as much energy as a primary consumer

Tertiary consumer

an animal that feeds on secondary consumers in a food chain

Predator

An animal that hunts other animals for food

Prey

An animal that is hunted for food

Producers

Organisms that use sunlight directly to make food through a process called photosynthesis

Symbiosis

A close relationship between two species that benefits at least one of the species
