As a means of DISPOSING of YARD DEBRIS

What type of fire are not required to obtain a PERMIT or LETTER of APPROVAL?

Persons wishing to have a RECREATIONAL FIRE

What type of fire shall have an approval letter?

Persons wishing to have a CEREMONIAL FIRE

Persons wishing to have a Ceremonial Fire shall have an Approval Letter from the __________.

Ceremonial Fires and Recreational Fires shall meet the following criteria:

I. Maximum Size of the Fire
II. Recreational Fires < 3 FT
III. May burn only UNTREATED WOOD
IV. Must be ATTENDED at ALL TIMES
V. Must have a MEANS of EXTINGUISHMENT
VI. Must be FULLY EXTINGUISHED when NOT ATTENDED
VII. Must NOT CREATE undue fire hazard or

I. Maximum Size of the Fire should be dictated by:

-the site
-setbacks
-extinguishment capabilities
-Fire Rescue Access
-Weather Conditions at the TIME of BURNING

II. Recreational Fires MAY NOT BE:

LARGER THAN 3 FT in DIAMETER

III. May burn only UNTREATED WOOD and MAY NOT BURN:

-Trash
-Treated Wood
-Yard Debris

V. Must have a MEANS of EXTINGUISHMENT (when?)

IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE

VIII. FIRES WITHIN 25 FEET of a Structure or Other Combustible Materials must be in an APPROPRIATE CONTAINER such as a:

-Fire Bowl
-Chiminea
-Other Burn Container

IX. No fire shall be kindled within 10 FT of any:

-Building
-Structure
-Overhang larger than 3 ft in Diameter

At whom discretion a unit may be required to stand-by on the scene during such events? (Ceremonial Fire or Recreational Fire)

Should be modified to come into Compliance
or Be immediately Extinguished

What happens to persons found to be repeatedly in violation of the restrictions of Conditions of Approval?
