Geometry Chapter 5 Relationships in Triangles

Perpendicular Bisector

a line, segment, or ray that passes through the midpoint of a side and is perpendicular to that side.

Circumcenter

the point of concurrency of the perpendicular bisectors of a triangle

Angle Bisector

a line, segment, or ray that divides an angle into two equal parts.

Incenter

the point of concurrency of the angle bisectors of a triangle

Median

a line segment with endpoints that are the vertex of a triangle and the midpoint of the side opposite the vertex

Centroid

the point of concurrency of the medians of a triangle

Altitude

a segment from a vertex of the triangle to the line containing the opposite side and is perpendicular to that side.

Orthocenter

the point of concurrency of the altitudes of a triangle

Point of Concurrency

the point of intersection of any three or more lines
