moderately raised ridge of a bone

facet

a smooth and flat surface of a bone that forms a joint with another facet

fossa

depression in a bone (often receives an articulating bone)

groove

a long narrow depression within a bone (contains tendon, nerve, vessel commonly)

head

the expanded rounded end of a long bone

line (linea)

mildly raised ridge of bone (less than crest)

neck

narrow portion of long bone between the body and the head

notch

V or U shaped depression in a bone

process

a projection of bone

spine

a sharp pointed process of a bone

sulcus

a groove or elongated depression in a bone

trochanter

a large bump on a bone (larger than a tuberosity or tubercle)

tuberosity

a medium bump on a bone (smaller than a trochanter)

tubercle

a small bump on a bone (smaller than a tuberosity)
