Minorities are minorities because they have less power than the majority. Some of the majority may not empathize with the minority, but sympathy is rampant, as seen by the protests that have been rampant.

To build onto the legal equality won by the civil rights movement, there needs to be an overall societal norm change on how minorities are viewed, through a display of understanding of the issues that they face every day, such as discrimination.

What are some effective ways in which citizens in a constitutional democracy can make their criticism and suggestions for improved government known?

Most, if not all, senators and representatives have emails and other forms of contact available for the public. If one wishes to make suggestions, one can either vote or run for public office, in order to make their ideas and suggestions heard.

My advice to groups in America that feel their rights are not being adequately protected is to organize themselves. Through organized protests, demonstrations, and petitions, they and their issues can become more prominent in the lives of the average Amer

I believe that incidents do occur, but as a culture, we've done a good job of promoting tolerance and eliminating de facto segregation. Oftentimes, people segregate themselves, defining themselves based on their race, sexuality, etc.

Segregation should never be permissible based on race. For other instances, like those who are murderers or mentally ill, they have been segregated for the benefit of society, however it is important to note that it is only "okay" because most of the time
