What is a categorical syllogism?

A syllogism consisting of three statements in categorical form

How many terms do syllogisms contain?

Three

What is the minor term of an argument and what letter represents it?

The subject term of the conclusion/S

What is the major term of an argument and what letter represents it?

The predicate term of the conclusion/P

What is the middle term of an argument and what letter represents it?

The term that is in both premises but is not in the conclusion at all/M

Why is the middle term called the "middle term?

It connects the premises together

What is the major premise?

The premise that contains the major term

What is the minor premise?

The premise that contains the minor term

Find the conclusion, find the major term, find the major premise, find the minor premise, write the syllogism out in standard order

What is the standard order for categorical statements?
