William Tyndale

An English professor who believed that everyone should be able to interpret the Bible. He translated the Bible to English which led for his arrest. However, he escaped and continued to translate the Bible. He was eventually killed.

Henry VIII

(1491-1547) Tudor that became King of England and transformed his country into a Protestant nation during the Reformation.
He was titled defender of the faith

Catherine of Aragon

Charles first wife, who had been married to his brother before he did. They had one daughter, Mary, but Henry wanted to divorce her because she gave him no male heir
She was also aunt of Charles V, HRE

Anne Boleyn

(1501-1536) misytress then second wife of Henry VIII and mother of Elizabeth I. Their affair resulted in Henry's attempt to annul his marriage to Catherine of Aragon and his break with the Catholic Church. Beheaded in 1536 for treason

Annulment

A declaration by a church tribunal system that a marriage was not valid.
