an anesthetic used for medical purposes, mostly animals. Misused as a club drug, it is often snorted, like cocaine, or injected. It may result in death by respiratory failure.

Codeine

a narcotic that is an ingredient in cough medications. It relieves pain by blocking pain messengers in the brain.

Stimulants

Methamphetamine

Rohypnol-

a depressant which is ten times as strong as tranquilizers, is better known as the date rape drug.

Hallucinogens-

are drugs that alter mood, thoughts, and sense perceptions including vision, hearing, smell, and touch.

Mushrooms-

psilocybin are the hallucinogenic principles contained in this drug. It can be eaten, brewed, and consumed as tea.

Ecstasy

also call MDMA, this drug is a combination stimulant and hallucinogen that gives a feeling of euphoria but often causes confusion, depression, paranoia, and psychosis.

Cocaine-

a rapid-acting, powerful, highly addictive stimulant that interrupts normal functioning of the central nervous system.

Depressants-

are drugs that tend to slow down the central nervous system. Also called sedatives.

GHB

a club drug that is similar to rohypnol. It is available in a clear liquid, a white powder, and in a variety of tablets and capsules.

PCP-

is considered one of the most dangerous of all drugs. User report distorted sense of time and space, increased muscle strength, and inability to feel pain.

Opium-

narcotic made from the white liquid in the poppy plant. It looks like a black or brown block of tar like substance.

Crack

a stimulant that is a dangerous, pure form of cocaine that reaches the brain in seconds after being smoked or injected.

Barbiturates

a drug that belongs to a family of sedative-hypnotic drugs, or drugs that induce sleepiness.

Narcotics

are specific drugs that are obtainable only by prescription and are used to relieve pain.

LSD-
