Symptomatic

The stage in which a person infected with HIV has symptoms as a result of a severe drop in immune cells

Asymptomatic

A period of time during which a person infected with HIV has no symptoms

Opportunistic Disease/Infection

An infection that occurs in an individual who does not have a healthy immune system.

HPV

A virus that can cause genital warts

Syphilis

An STD that attacks many parts of the body (hands, feet, back and internal organs)

Gonorrhea

A bacterial STD that affects the genital mucous membranes

Genital Herpes

An STD that is caused by herpes simplex virus. It has blister sores on the genitals

Chlamydia

A bacterial infections that affects the reproductive organs of both males/females

Age 16 in the state of Michigan to legally have sexual intercourse

Safe Delivery Act

This law requires fire stations, hospitals and police stations to accept unwanted newborn infants that are brought to their facility within 72 hours without questioning.
