check for objects to rear, foot on brake, steering wheel at 12 o'clock, turn body to rear, move backward at slow speed, look to rear until stopped

backing and turning

check for objects to rear, shift to reverse and signal, steering wheel both hands, turn body to rear, move backward at slow speed, steer in direction of turn, check front and rear

make sure shift lever is in park and make sure the foot or parking break is applied
