Hazardous Material
Any substance or material that is capable of posing a unreasonable risk to human health, safety, or the environment when transported in commerce, used incorrectly, or not properly contained or stored
WMD(Weapon Of Mass Destruction
Weapons whose use is intended to cause mass causalities, damage, and chaos. (NFPA classifies as hazardous material )
Neurotoxin
This type of chemical causes damage to the nervous system
NFPA Standard 704
Container marking that is used for fixed facilities
Corrosivity(Ph)
A measure of a substance's tendency to deteriorate in the presence of another substance or in a particular environment
Lower Explosive Limit(LEL)
The minimum concentration of vapor to air below which a flame will not propagate in the presence of an ignition source
Upper Explosive Limit(UEL)
The maximum vapor to air concentration above which a flame will not propagate
Flash Point
The temperature at which a liquid will give off sufficient vapors that will ignite readily given an ignition source
Specific Gravity
Ratio of the weight of a liquid or solid as compared to an equal amount of water
Persistence
A materials ability to stay within the area of release for a long period of time
Particle Size
Refers to solids, and is expressed in microns or percent passing through a meshed screen
Ignition Temperature/
The minimum temperature required to cause self-sustained combustion in the absence of any source of ignition
