Acne

Active inflammation of the sebaceous glands accompanied by pimples.

Alopecia

Loss of hair- results from the effects of chemotherapy medications, hormonal changes, or improper hair care practices.

Outer layer of the skin that has several thin layers in different stages of maturation; shields and protects the underlying tissues from water loss, mechanical or chemical injury, and penetration by disease-causing microorganisms.

Sebaceous glands

Part of the dermal layer of the skin. Secrete;s sebum, an oily, odorous fluid, into the hair follicles. Sebum softens and lubricates the skin and slows water loss from the skin when the humidity is low. Sebum has bactericidal action.

What does the oral cavity consist of?

The lips, cheeks, tongue and its muscles, and the hard and soft palate.

What impairs the salivary secretion in the mouth?

The effects of medication, exposure to radiation, dehydration, and mouth breathing.
