Orchestra

A circular space near the skene where the chorus would sing and dance. In the center was an altar for worship to Dionysius.

Theatron

A hill where the spectators sat with marble seats to watch plays.

Skene

A building behind the stage that was decorated an used to change costumes and exit and enter the stage.

Parodos

The passageways that the actors and audience used to exit and enter the theater.

Prologue

Used to give the mythological background of the play.

Song sun by the chorus while the orchestra dances as they enter.

1st Episode

the first of many episodes. When the characters and chorus talk

1st Stasimon

at the end of each episode when the characters leave the stage and the chorus dances and sings a stasimon (or choral ode) It reflects on things said in the episode

Exodus

The ending song which the chorus and orchestra exit to. Usually involves telling what the moral of the play was.
