4 types of humor

slapstick - physical humor - simulates violence or exaggerated bodily harm
bawdy - sexual matters in a comical way, humorous intent
dark - grim or depressing humor dealing with misfortune or death
highbrow - cultured or sophisticated themes

3 types of irony

verbal - what is said is different from what is meant ex) Montresor's toast to Fortunado's long life
situational - the outcome of events is contrary to what was expected
dramatic - reader has knowledge that surpasses 1 or more of the characters

Satire

The \use of humor, irony, exaggeration or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, especially in politics and other contemporary issues
