Quadratic Formula
the formula that represents the roots of any quadratic function in standard form.
Discriminant
b^2-4ac; determines the number and types of roots a quadratic will have (radicand of the reciprocal)
Conjunction
a compound inequality whose solution set is a line segment.
Disjunction
a compound inequality whose solution set is two rays extending in opposite directions
Inclusive
a type of inequality that includes the boundaries as part of the solution set (closed endpoints, solid boundary line/curve)
Equality
addition property of equality; x+c=y+c if x=y ; adding the same constant "c" to both sides of the equation will maintain the existing equivalence.
Identity
addition inequality x+0=x ; adding a value of zero to an expression will maintain the value of the expression.
