Rococo

a style of architecture and decoration that originated in France in
the early 18th century, characterized by elaborate but graceful,
light, ornamentation, often containing asymmetrical motifs.

Enlightenment

is also referred to as The Age of Reason, a time period that stems
from the awakening of European interest in science in the seventeenth
century and ends with the unreason of the French Revolution at the end
of the eighteenth century.

Curiatii

were male triplets from Alba Longa and of the same age as the Horatii.

Jacques Louis David

was an influential French painter in the Neoclassical style,
considered to be the preeminent painter of the era. In the 1780s his
cerebral brand of history painting marked a change in taste away from
Rococo frivolity toward a classical austerity and severity, heightened
feeling[1] harmonizing with the moral climate of the final years of
the Ancien R�gime.

Neoclassicism

is the name given to Western movements in the decorative and visual
arts, literature, theatre, music, and architecture that draw
inspiration from the "classical" art and culture of Ancient
Greece or Ancient Rome.

Romanticism

was an artistic, literary, and intellectual movement that originated
in Europe toward the end of the 18th century

was the traditional trip of Europe undertaken by mainly upper-class

Aphrodite was jealous of Psyche's beauty, so she sent her son Eros to
shoot her with one of his arrows and cause her to fall in love with
the ugliest many in the world. Eros buggered up, and as he beheld her
sleeping form he was so stunned by her beauty that he pricked himself
on one of his own arrows and fell deeply in love.

an ornamental design consisting of intertwined flowing lines,
originally found in Arabic or Moorish decoration

He was a physician, radical political theorist and scientist best
known for his career in France as a radical journalist and politician
during the French Revolution.
