Academy
This is the place where ninja are trained to become genin. Here students learn the most basic ninja skills.
ANBU Black Ops
An elite organization of the Village Hidden in the Leaves. It is used for spying, special missions, and to body guard the Hokage.
Chakra
The elemental life energy used to perform jutsu.
Chunin
A mid-level ninja; they are below Jounin and above genin. They have shown intelligence and strength to an extent that they can be entrusted with standard ninja tasks as while as leading a squad.
Chunin Exams
The exams used to determine what genin are worthy of being chunin.
Dojutsu
Dojutsu is a special jutsu that resides in the eyes. A dojutsu is usually a kekkei genkai and it allows special visual powers. The Sharingan and Byakugan are examples of dojutsu.
Food Pills
Energy boosters allowing soldiers to fight for days without rest. It can easily double the users chakra. The downside is that there is horrible withdrawal and fatigue after extended use.
Genin
The lowest ninja rank. These ninja are often fresh from the academy with little or no experience.
Genjutsu
A technique that causes illusion or other mental effects.
Hand Sign
Movements of the hands and fingers that allow a ninja to focus and mix their chakra to perform jutsu.
Hidden Village
A village in which ninja are trained and live. They are independent of any outside government; however, they represent military strength to any nation that they are within.
Jounin
An elite ninja. Jounin are the highest ninja other than the Kage. They have extreme power and unbelievable skills.
Jutsu
The ninja arts. Jutsu is the way in which a ninja applies their stamina and chakra in battle.
Kage
The best of the ninja; literally shadows. These ninja are wise and powerful. They are the leaders of their villages.
Kekkei Genkai
Bloodline traits. Special abilities, such as the Sharingan, that are passed through families.
Kunai
Small dagger. Used hand to hand or as a throwing weapon. These are extremely common and used by all ninja.
Kunoichi
Female ninja.
Makibishi Spikes
Spikes that are thrown on the floor to slow down an enemy.
Nine-Tailed Fox
A demon that nearly destroyed the leaf village. It was sealed in Naruto's body by the Fourth Hokage.
Nindo
Ninja way. This is the guiding principal or goal that a ninja strives for. For example, Naruto's nindo is to never give up and to never go back on his word; Lee's nindo is to prove that he can be a splendid ninja even without genjutsu and ninjutsu.
Ninjutsu
A wide range of techniques. It could be described as any jutsu performed that is not taijutsu or genjutsu.
Paper Bomb
A piece of paper that explodes after a short time.
Sannin
A legendary ninja. A rank comparable to Kage.
Senbon
Throwing needles that are rarely fatal. They are usually used to disable the enemy in some way.
Shinobi
Another word for ninja.
Shuriken
Throwing weapon. These are small bladed weapons that are used as a supplement to other battle techniques. They are often thrown, but can be used hand to hand as well.
Taijutsu
Hand to hand combat. In this form of ninja fighting chakra is rarely used because the bodies energy is used directly.
Tracker
An extremely skilled ninja who's job is to track down rogue ninjas to stop village secrets from falling into enemy hands.

Squad Seven
Kakashi Hatake, Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, Sasuke Uchiha
Squad Eight
Kurenai, Hinata Hyuga, Kiba Inuzuka , Shino Aburame

Asuma Sarutobi, Choji Akimichi, Ino Yamanaka, Shikamaru Nara
A Thousand Needles of Death
This jutsu create many needles of ice which all strike at the opponent at once.
All Fours
This jutsu is used to give the user more animal like movement.
Dragon Flame
The user sends flame out from their mouth to burn the enemy.
Fire Dragon Bomb
Fire bombs are launched at the enemy.
Dark Swamp
This jutsu creats a giant pit of mud. It can be used to slow down and trap enemies.
